I’m always looking for good, innovative ways to use Social Media tools and today I would like to introduce you to an awesome project using Twitter. We found this great Project in the little town of Enderby BC – population of 2900. We traveled to Enderby to talk to some of the people involved so I could tell you the story of this unusual Social Media project.
They seem to come in waves – but a lot of them return over and over again: Facebook scams. The other day I asked on my Facebook Page:
What do you do if you see one of your Facebook friends post a scam on their wall?
Most of you responded that you would tell your friend, either on their wall or in a private message, that they fell into a trap.
I don’t think there is any industry right now where it is more important for competitors to stay fresh and innovate. Social Media tools evolve at an incredible rate and Facebook needs to stay ahead of the game to maintain it’s industry leading position.
As a Social Media consultant I often write about the How, What, Why and tips and tricks to make your experience more rewarding. As much as I love doing that Social Media is much more than that – it represents a fundamental shift in our lives – a shift that can be compared to the impact of the printing press or the industrial revolution.
With the help of many friends I co-organized an event yesterday that brought the struggle of the Syrian people into our small city of Kelowna, BC
Don’t get me wrong – I do schedule updates and I am guilty of using Twitter as a RSS feed too often. We all get pulled into self promotion sometimes. I’m also glad I still have my private Twitter account @frith64 where I chat about my hobbies and my political opinions.
But! Remember that it’s people that make purchasing decisions, not search engines and not analytics. After all the glitter is gone, consumers as well as B2B (business to business) decision makers are human beings – Social Media works when we manage to establish a direct or indirect personal connection.

Frithjof, Michele and the Team a Tweet4Ok.com did a fantastic job providing the live Twitter stream for 2012 Kelowna Apple Triathlon. We doubled our Facebook Page "likes", increased our Twitter followers, and had more than 74,000 views from the weekend because of the hard work of Tweek4Ok.com. We had visits to our blog from Canada, United States, Spain, Russia, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil and Columbia during the week of the Apple Triathlon for race information, all due the regular twitter and Facebook updates. They went above and beyond our expectations and I highly recommend their services to any event looking to interact with participants and spectators.
